Puppies, Puppies Everywhere!

Mulberry Too turned into a doghouse today as we had not one but TWO puppy parties! I've seen many cute puppies...but I have to say these are the cutest!

Paige & Elizabeth, two spunky 8-year-olds (though 56 in dog years), each decided to gather all of their pals and get in touch with their inner canine this year to celebrate.

This is work?

As I made my way to work this morning I walked through a cloud of bubbles & into Mulberry Toys. From the moment I stepped in the door, it was made clear to me that Michelle & Vanessa were "working" & were not to be disturbed. Once I got to the back of the store, I found Vanessa making balloon animals and Michelle reading children's books...& they call this work?

I guess I can't say much since right now I am online looking for guitar chords to High School Musical or Hannah Montana songs for the "Make a Little Noise!" class tomorrow.

I can't believe this is a job! I'm sure you're wishing you could trade places with me right now. My job isn't one I'm willing to give up, but you can come hang out with us anytime at Mulberry Too or Mulberry Toys!

Little Mommies

When Clark and her friends arrived at Mulberry Too for her party, they put fresh diapers on their dolls, powdered them, even spritzed on a little Love's Baby Soft.

The girls did some crafts,
played some games,
& enjoyed cake & petite fours with their babies!

The party was a huge hit! Click here to see more photos from Clark's Baby Doll Party!

Quite a "Tail"

At Sophia's birthday, she and her pony-loving friends galloped, trotted, and cantered around Mulberry Too in style! They represented their equine friends well as they were perfectly adorned in pony tails. That's right...pony tails beautifully groomed at Mulberry's fully staffed Pony Parlor.

All activities, including crafts and games, were pony-themed so there was a lot of horsing around at Mulberry Too that day!

A Day At the Spa

Remember when planning a birthday party meant buying invitations, addressing them, forgetting to send them, worrying that they wouldn't get there in time, and then finally remembering to drop them in the mail? Then you realize it's the day before the party, so you rush all around town trying to gather your supplies. You wake up in a panic the next day, and rush, rush, rush. Then the next thing you know, the candles have been blown out and your house is a wreck. Remember those days?

Rachel's family didn't have these issues. Instead, they let us plan Rachel's birthday party & found it to be like a day at the spa.

Seven-year-olds, cucumbers, face masks, fingernail polish, & lots of sugar...what could be better?

Photography & Movie-Making

Last week I got to spend a few hours with some up-and-coming photographers/directors/actors!

In Photography we learned about different settings of a camera and practiced using each one. We also talked about complementary colors and leading lines and went outside for some practice with those concepts.

Here, the kids each picked a place to pose that would complement the colors that they were wearing.

To end the class, we learned about subject matter. We looked at photographs showing that almost anything can make an interesting picture! The boys went home with a list of objects to make into interesting subject matter.

Later in Movie-Making, we learned how to plan and film an action scene. As you can probably guess, they were just a little bit excited about that.

Come join us for some Mulberry classes! Check out our schedule here!

Scrapbooking

Our Mulberry summer classes are off to a great start! We're having so much fun that I feel like I need to share it with you, my bloggy friends! I'm going to start highlighting some of our classes every few days. I'll try to tell you a little bit about each one & include some pictures.

Today I got to spend an hour scrapbooking with two sweet 8-year-olds (who are really only 7 but feel that they are close enough to call themselves 8). So far, every scrapbook page that has been created has centered around one of my favorite places: the beach. Waves and sunshines are making their way onto many a snazzy scrapbook page.

Here are a few examples from today:

Here's the thing, Mulberry Moms: scrapbooking can be very time-consuming and expensive. My perfect solution: print a few pictures, bring your kids to Mulberry Too, and let them do it for you!

Scrapbooking classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-5:00. Can't wait to see your kids there!

A Perfect Princess

Sunday I met a real princess! She arrived at Mulberry Too in her beautiful dress, perfectly accessorized with "grown-up earrings" and plenty of glitter. Jordan was the most excited birthday girl I have ever seen, exclaiming "This is the best day of my life!" at least ten or twelve times over the hour and a half that she was there.
